Former Cup Champ Fights Lung Cancer
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Former NASCAR champion Benny Parsons has been diagnosed with lung cancer and began chemotherapy treatments Wednesday. Parsons, the 1973 Cup champion and now a NASCAR commentator on NBC and TNT, was diagnosed two weeks ago after he had trouble breathing.

Genentech/Roche: Avastin success in pancreatic cancer on hold?
A phase III trial evaluating Genentech/Roches blockbuster cancer drug Avastin plus Eli Lillys Gemzar in advanced pancreatic cancer has failed to meet its primary survival endpoint. While this is disappointing news, no safety concerns were raised, another pancreatic cancer trial is still ongoing and the existing filings and approvals in colorectal, lung and breast cancer are unaffected.
